Course on Performance-based Earthquake Engineering at UNIZG

The Performance-Based Earthquake Engineering (PBEE) course was held 29.9-3.10.2025, organized by Faculty of Civil engineering University of Zagreb and Croatian Center for Earthquake Engineering (HCPI) in cooperation with DJURA – Risk-Data-Engineering. Among the 20 attendees were 4 members of the 2BESAFE research group. The attendees were able to learn about newest methods and trends in earthquake engineering through programs like Opensees and Python. The course was led by prof. Gerard J. O’Reilly, dr.sc. Volkan Özsaraç and dr. sc. Davit Shahnazaryan. The course contained an overview of the whole PBEE process, from hazard analysis to loss estimates.

The theory was presented by professor Gerard, while the practical part of the workshop was presented by Volkan and Davit

A part of the workshop was a technical visit to the Zagreb
